We collected our laundry we washed yesterday. The accommodation has a washing machine and we did the washing ourselves, hang them to dry.
After breakfast and time alone with God, we set off for 太平山. It was a more than an hour ride from our last accommodation. My purpose was for a hot spring. There was a pit for cooking eggs, corn and tapioca. We had none. We cook instant noodles. I used 2 zip blog bag, poured some water and soak the bags in the hot water pit. The local were surprise and this was probably the first time someone cook instant noodles. After the quick meal, we went for our hot bath. The hot spring was too hot for Jo and he stayed out of water most of the time. Mat enjoyed both the hot and cold water.
The experience was fun for the boys. But you paid the entrance fee to enter the mountain as well as entrance fee to use the hot spring. But the cooking eggs area is free.
After Taiping shan was a long drive to Hualien. The last time I drove a short distance on freeway 9. It is a 2 lane road cutting through ridges and mountain. It was not a 100km/hr type of road but winding. It took me 3 to 4 hours to drive.
As a reward, I gave my boys a good seafood dinner at 美崙海鮮. Each time I visit Hualien, I had dinner there. The owner catch his own fish and do the cooking. The sashimi is very fresh.
Indeed the Lord bless us on the winding journey with good drivers. The last time, I drove on this road, I was met with impatient trucks and bus drivers. As we are near Hualien, it begin to rain, we pray that it will not be a heavy one with strong wind. Indeed, the Lord bless the journey.
The accommodation belong to a family. We satyed at Hualien for 3 nights. The family has a dog and a baby boy.
